“…those who follow crooked paths will be exposed.” (The Bible, Proverbs)

FOUNDING FATHERS PERSPECTIVE

“Educate and inform the whole mass of the people. Enable them to see that it is in their interest to preserve peace and order, and they will preserve them.” (Thomas Jefferson)

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” (Martin Luther King Jr., promulgator of the Founders’ principles)

FACTS

“Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” (John Adams)

◊ Black Lives Matter (BLM) is an activist movement that uses social media, protests, and rallies to create social change. They have 37 chapters in the US and 1 in Canada.

◊ BLM was founded in 2012 by three Black women who said that BLM was a “call to action for Black people … as a response to the anti-Black racism that permeates (U.S.) society.” BLM believes that in the U.S. “… black lives are intentionally and systematically targeted for demise … by police and vigilantes.”

◊ BLM’s founders publicly acknowledge Assata Shakur and Angela Davis as individuals who inspire their activity.

Ms. Shakur is a fugitive on the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted Terrorist list: a convicted first degree murderer who killed a law enforcement officer in 1973.

Ms. Davis, a lifelong Communist, purchased the guns that were used to murder a Marin County (CA) judge in 1970, but was acquitted of First Degree Murder and Kidnapping charges.

◊ BLM was founded in response to what they claim was the unjust death of Trayvon Martin who was shot and killed in 2012 while assaulting a private citizen. After 17 months of state and federal investigation and a jury trial, Martin’s shooting was declared justifiable because of his own unlawful behavior.
CNN, 7/14/13. Botelho, Greg and Yan, Holly. “George Zimmerman found not guilty in Trayvon Martin’s death”

◊ BLM nationally protests what they claim are the unjust killing of many other Black men by police. Four well-known BLM protests were in response to the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, and Freddie Gray.

ALL of the police accused in the four men’s deaths were found innocent by juries and/or grand juries, and/or state/federal investigation. All of the victims’ deaths were attributed to their own unlawful behavior and/or unrelated causes.

◊ BLM is “committed to disrupting/dismantling the Western nuclear family” and replacing it with “Black Villages” where fathers would not be necessary or even desired. They declare themselves to be “queer affirming”, and seek to “free themselves from the tight grip of heterosexuality.”

Kweisi Mfume, former head of the NAACP, stated that the present absence of Black fathers is a greater threat to the Black community than White racism.

◊ BLM says that they “do not hate police,” and that “(police) lives have inherent value.” BLM states that they “believe in practicing empathy” and “loving engagement.”

Yet, at a number of BLM rallies, their followers have been recorded chanting: “What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want them? Now.”

◊ In February 2016, the Nashville Public Library informed the BLM Nashville Chapter that they could no longer hold meetings at the Library because BLM was practicing racial discrimination by barring White people from attending their meetings. BLM accused the Library of practicing “White supremacy.”

◊ 15% of Republicans, but 70% of Democrats approve of BLM, including President Obama who invited BLM leaders to a White House meeting where he thanked them “for their outstanding work.”

SUMMARY

The BLM website posts the following statement: “Black Lives Matter advocates for dignity, justice, and respect.” BLM’s record conclusively proves the total falsity of this claim. Since its inception, BLM has promoted racial discrimination, hatred, gross public disrespect, and revenge. Their acknowledged heroes are individuals who have killed police officers. No matter how overwhelming the evidence of guilt, whenever a Black person is convicted of a crime, BLM claims injustice. They advocate for anarchy, and against strong, traditional Black families. BLM’s agenda is self-serving. Its platform is a senseless philosophical jumble of values they do not follow. BLM actively harms America’s efforts to maintain racial harmony. Only those individuals with similar agendas would find any justification for supporting them.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION

The facts that expose BLM need to be disseminated as widely as possible. Political leaders who are aware of BLM’s background, and support or fail to censure their activities, should be publicly condemned.
